LEADING TO FREEDOM

Welcome to Leading To Freedom, my blog, and a space for women in leadership to put down the load for a moment, be real about the day-to-day challenges at work and beyond, and find the freedom to release the struggle and enjoy life and leading.

In here, you’ll find stories from my experience as an HR leader and coach, working with women I think you’ll be able to relate to.  I know I can.  I’ll also share with you my own experiences on my path to lead with love, humor, and wisdom.   It is a journey still very much underway.

So let’s embrace that perfect imperfection that makes each of us unique and amazing.  Let’s see what there is to learn when we relax, step out of the stress, and make some simple shifts that lead to true freedom.  Let’s see how to love this changing world and the journey we are on.

Leave a comment if there is a topic you’d like to see covered in this space.  I’d love to know what is on your mind.

Words to live by, words to be remembered by…

Words to live by, words to be remembered by…

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about the words we choose to live by, as well as the words that we are remembered by.   My interest in the latter—the words that we are remembered by—was prompted by my recent bike ride to check out the town cemetery.  I live in an...

No More Drama…

No More Drama…

“I just don’t want any more drama…” You know that feeling, I bet.  When a problem or conflict with someone just takes up waaaay too much of your time and energy.  You just feel, well, tired.   It’s true that some of us seem to have more...

It’s time for “work-life balance” to have a makeover.

It’s time for “work-life balance” to have a makeover.

I’ve never been totally ok with the term “work-life balance”.  To me, it signals that work is as big as life itself, not a part of our existing one.  And, since we seem to have coined the phrase out of a need to put work in its place, why would we...
